Innsbruck - coins, salt, silver and crystal

In the 15th and 16th century a lot of silver was found in the mountains around the Tyrolean town of Schwaz. This silver was used to coin coins in the neighbouring town of Hall, where also salt was produced for centuries.

And Wattens - a small town between these two towns - is nowadays the centre of the crystal. Here is the production of Swarovski crystal and here you can visit the fantastic Swarovski Crystal Worlds. (All pictures: © Swarovski Kristallwelten)
